City of Vienna Testing Centre, Inspection and Certification Body (MA 39)

The Lighting Technology Laboratory of the City of Vienna Testing Centre, Inspection and Certification Body performs a wide variety of tasks regarding light and lighting. Its field of work includes ranges from interior and exterior lighting solutions, photometrics, related standards to lighting calculation programmes and specialised simulation software. The services are offered internationally.

A particular focus is on the evaluation and assessment of lighting in public spaces. While light in urban areas is essential for safety and comfort in public spaces and must fulfil very high standards, it is equally important to avoid unwanted illumination of indoor or outdoor spaces, and to continuously improve innovative, energy efficient lighting concepts. This is why the Laboratory also develops night-time lighting solutions for public spaces and provides technical expertise for light control and emission.
