The Affiliate Membership Program is open to organisations in countries without a CIE National Committee or Associate National Committee. Eligible organisations are typically the National Standards Body or the National Metrology Institute of a country, with only on organisation per country able to become an Affiliate Member.
In addition, this programme is a valuable opportunity for developing or new industrialising countries to engage with the work of the CIE an benefit from its International Standards and scientific expertise. Affiliate Members can actively participate in the technical work of the CIE, though they do not hold voting rights.
