CIE MIDTERM SESSION - Durban, South Africa

The CIE is holding its 1997 midterm session in the first week of September 1997 in Durban, South Africa. CIE midterm sessions are held halfway between the quadrennial CIE sessions (last quadrennial - New Delhi, 1995; next quadrennial - Warsaw, 1999). Like the quadrennial sessions, the midterm sessions include meetings of the CIE Board, the CIE General Assembly and of several CIE Divisions. They are usually linked to a major international conference, in this case the SANCI / CIE Conference on Lighting in Developing Countries. SANCI is the South African National Committee on Illumination, which is a member of the CIE.
